Building the Atomium

Location: Warsaw, MiTo art.café.books, ul. Waryńskiego 28, 11.00 am - 5.00 pm

The Atomium has become not only a symbol of Belgium and Brussels, but also an international tourism attraction. This unique piece of architecture was created by Belgian engineer André Waterkeyn on the occasion of the Brussels World Fair in 1958. The structure symbolises an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times. Today, the five balls of the Atomium are open to the public and they offer numerous attractions including concerts, movie screenings and conferences and there is even a restaurant in the top ball with a great view of Brussels.

During the workshop event, all Belgian architecture lovers will be able to build their own Atomium model using pieces of styrofoam.
