Farewell Waldemar,
You left this life as abruptly as you intensively lived it. You died among your friends in a theatre: such a symbolic final image. You were one of the most faithful guests of the events of the BBC. You were always seen with friends: meeting old ones and making new ones. We will miss your presence and the atmosphere it gave us very much.

PNSA - application deadline

Applications for the IV. PNSA competition - Professional Salesman of the year started at the beginning of December and will close by March 16th. Registration is possible on www.pnsa.pl. During registration each candidate will receive a user account to be granted access to application forms. All applicants will be given access to application forms in all 12 categories.

The Polish Institute of Nuclear Physics adjudicated a 2nd contract to IBA for cyclotron center

The Belgian company IBA based in Louvain-la-Neuve/Wallonia signed a second contract with the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the of a Proton Therapy Center in Cracow.
This constitutes the second stage of the development of the Polish National Centre for Hadron Radiotherapy (NCRH).

Thanks to this deal, Poland will benefit from state of the art technology in cancer therapy.
The Bronowice Cyclotron Centre of the Institute will become a major research center in physics, medicine and related sciences by 2014. It will be one of 5th such modern clinical proton therapy center in Europe.

This investments amounts to between 15 and 20 million Euros.

IBA is a world market leader on solutions for healthcare with a focus on cancer diagnosis and therapy.
In 2010, IBA had already signed a first contract of 30 million Euros with Polish Academy of Sciences.

Teleyard to create 1000 new jobs in Szczecin

Belgian company from the steel sector will invest PLN 80 million. The intentional letter was signed on July 29th during a cruise on the Oder river.
In order to proceed with the project in Szczecin Teleskop, a company that has been operating in Poland for over 10 years, will establish a new entity - Teleyard. At the moment Teleskop, in its plants in Kostrzyn on Odrą, employs here 840 persons.

Winners of the third PNSA edition revealed

The winners of the third edition of the Polish National Sales Awards - Professional Salesman of the Year 2010 were revealed and awarded during the celebratory gala on June 16th. Candidates competed in 9 categories. The seven winners were chosen among 24 finalists, who were selected by a panel of judges under the supervision PwC.

The General Assembly of the Belgian Business Chamber
Hotel Jan III Sobieski, 15.09.2010
Organizer: Belgian Business Chamber

On September 15th the Belgian Business Chamber held its General Assembly. The Members of the BBC gathered at the Jan III Sobieski Hotel. The Board of Directors was represented by Mr. Maciej Bogucki, Mrs. Joanna Karniol, Mr. Pierre Wautelet. The Secretary of the Board was Mrs. Małgorzata Napierała-Vincent.

Closure of the BBC Association
Due to the change of the legal structure from the Association to an Employers’ Union, the old organization had to be closed. In an open ballot, the Members voted unanimously for the change to the new legal structure.

The General Assembly of the Employers’ Union
After the break the new Belgian Business Chamber - the Employer’s Union - held its General Assembly. In a secret ballot, the Members of the BBC chose the New Board of Directors. The votes spread out as follows:

After the General Assembly the Members and their guests were invited to relax and mix at the Monthly Meeting sponsored by Jan III Sobieski Hotel. During this evening the new Members of the Chamber - BSJP, SZOT iT had the opportunity to present their company. The new BBC website, designed by Mr. Tomasz Wielgus and created by Mr. Przemysław Szot was presented. Mrs. Clotilde Simonis-Gorska presented a small exhibition of young Polish artists who cooperate with her Latająca Galeria.

On September 22nd the Board Meeting of the Belgian Business Chamber - Employers’ Union choose its new Board. Three members of the board presented their candidatures for president and vice-president : Marc Cottyn, Jarosław Nowicki, Philippe Van Hellemont.

Two members of the board presented their candidature for Treasurer : Elżbieta Strojny, Annick Van Hool.

All Members of the board voted by secret ballot. The votes for President and Vice-President spread as follows :
Marc Cottyn - 7 votes
Jarosław Nowicki - 6 votes
Philippe Van Hellemont - 1 vote
The votes for Treasurer spread out as follows :
Elżbieta Strojny - 4 votes
Annick Vn Hool - 4 votes
Due to the same number of votes, the election for the Treasurer was repeated. For the second time the votes spread out in the same manner. Annick Van Hool decided to resign in Elzbieta Strojny’s favour. Elżbieta Strojny was chosen for a Treasure.
