The General Assembly of the Belgian Business Chamber took place on 18 June 2026 at the Embassy of Belgium to Poland and Lithuania in Warsaw, bringing together our Members to review the Chamber’s achievements, discuss its future direction and make important decisions regarding its continued development.
The evening was opened by H.E. Rik Van Droogenbroeck, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Poland and Lithuania, whom we sincerely thank for his continued support of the Belgian-Polish business community throughout his diplomatic mission in Poland.
Following the Ambassador’s welcome remarks, Leen Vermeersch, Vice-President of the Board, officially opened the meeting and appointed Adam Ołdziejewski, Vice-President of the Board, as Chairman of the General Assembly.
During the meeting, Members reviewed and approved the Chamber’s key reports:
- Julia Stachowicz - Management Board Activity Report for 2025
- Krzysztof Kalata - Financial Report for 2025
- Ronald Richardson - Audit Committee Report
We thank all Members who actively participated in the discussions and voting process.
A particularly important part of this year’s Assembly was the presentation of the BBC Strategic Plan 2026-2027 by Leen Vermeersch, outlining the Chamber’s priorities and development objectives for the coming years.
Members also voted on the BBC Statute Modernisation Proposal presented by Mariusz Kowolik. The proposed amendments were approved, marking an important milestone in the Chamber’s evolution and supporting the next stage of cooperation following the announced integration process with BEPOLUX - The Belgian - Polish - Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
One of the highlights of the evening was the keynote speech delivered by our Guest of Honour, Ph.D. Joanna Tyrowicz - Professor of Economics at the Uniwersytet Warszawski, Member of the Monetary Policy Council and co-founder of FAME | GRAPE research. We sincerely thank Professor Tyrowicz for sharing her insights and joining us for this important occasion.
The Assembly also included the presentation of the BBC Activity Plan for 2026 by Julia Stachowicz, followed by an open discussion on future initiatives and priorities for the Chamber and its Members.
The formal part of the evening concluded with a special moment dedicated to H.E. Rik Van Droogenbroeck, who will complete his diplomatic mission in Poland this summer. On behalf of the Belgian Business Chamber community, we thank him for his engagement, openness and support over the years.
The evening continued with a cocktail reception hosted at the Embassy and concluded with our traditional After-GA gathering at Elephant Belgian Pub.
Thank you to all BBC Members, partners and guests who joined us. Your trust, engagement and participation continue to shape the future of our Chamber and strengthen the ties between the Belgian and Polish business communities.
Together, we are building the next chapter of the Belgian Business Chamber.
